Welcome to The Prepared Piano

After reading tonights assignment, I decided to look more into the definitions of aesthetic, and I turned to dictionary.com. One of the definitions that the site gave that helped make more sense to me of what asthetics means is: pertaining to, involving, or concerned with pure emotion and sensation as opposed to pure intellectuality (dictionary.com).
I think music is an important part of life for many people because not only does it provide entertainment but it is also used in other ways such as religion, different kinds of ceremonies, it can be therapeutic and as a means to express oneself. Music is an art form and I've studied other art forms from painting to photography to printmaking and illustration and so I'm looking forward to learning more about music.
