John Cage Centennial
American composer John Cage turns 100 on September 5th. We are celebrating at Thomas More with two student-led performances of 4'33''. More later.http://johncage.org/2012/
As I was looking up different information about John Cage, I came across this quote that he said. "There is no such thing as an empty space or an empty time. There is always something to see, something to hear. In fact, try as we may to make a silence, we cannot” (John Cage). I thought this quote was interesting because it reminds us that something is constantly going on around us, whether we know it or not. I think this quote makes me personally look more into the details around me instead of just looking at the surface of things.
